PHP developer is a good job for any age

Dana didn’t know why people underestimated her abilities to process information.  It insulted her when she told people that she was a PHP developer.  When they looked at her as if they weren’t quite sure what language she was speaking, she would quickly explain that PHP was a server-side scripting language used to design web pages, they would cock their heads to the side and smile as if they were watching a cocker spaniel win a game of scrabble. She didn’t know if it was gender bias or maybe even ageism. It could just be that they found it hard to believe that a seventy-five year old former housewife would turn out to enjoy and become successful in the computer industry.  That may have been it. Even thought it was unexpected, it was still a little insulting.  She did work from home, but she didn’t work from a rocking chair, although she probably could if she wanted to.
